A slightly disappointing morning session that was just a tad too far on the
wrong side of the 8.45am low tide. I arrived 9.30am and conditions were
looking good, albeit lighter than expected. So rigged the 5.2 and surprise
surprise straight away the wind came back up so that after only one run I
had to change down GRRR. Whilst I was faffing around rigging up of course
the tide kept on creeping up, so that by the time I re-launched conditions
had started to deteriorate to mid-tide choplumphell. Was still ok at first
and ramps were good for some decent jumping, but very soon with the
increasing wind and rising-tide mega-choppy water state it just wasn't any
fun trying to keep the board on the water. So I called it quits earlier
than hoped at 11am.
The tide times were annoyingly inconvienient for morning sailing today. Too
early for Shoreham, too late for Worthing, although with hindsight a lie-in
and a quick hour 11.30-12.30 at the cafe would have been the best plan of
action.
